On this play an off ball freedom of movement defensive foul is called on #5 Blue. The Center official keeps his focus on his primary area of responsibility and calls the illegal contact. As the calling official makes his way to the table to report the foul he calls a Technical Foul on the Blue teams bench/assistants.
It is really important to clearly communicate to the table all the information, the original foul called on #5 Blue, the Class A or Class B Technical foul and whether or not its a personnel and team foul, how many shots will be attempted, any adjustments that may need to be made to the shot clock, etc.
Also note how quickly the information is given to the head coach by the calling official. Get in, give the information and get out.
