Below are some comments from officials who attended the 2024 John Higgins Basketball Officiating Camps:

  • Very well organized. Breakout sessions were great, and the topics covered were informative. All staff was very approachable and open.
  • Plenty of topics covered. Observers were all engaged and offered good feedback. Everyone including Higgins made themselves available for conversation. Level of basketball was solid.
  • A lot of opportunities to grow! Experiences from different clinicians were a great tool to learn. Thanks!
  • The organization, the clinicians were first class, and the basketball was great being paired with the EYBL
  • The approach and interactions with senior experienced officials! Don’t think there was a moment I didn’t get a new tool for my tool bag…
  • There was never a doubt about the schedule, where and when your game was, the information, access to your games, people (clinicians) who were still on the court, the advanced notice and communication, and enthusiasm from all the people who were there.
  • I certainly appreciated the Staff in taking time out of their busy schedule to teach us during classroom sessions, evaluating games as well as the John’s time to watch our games to provide positive feedback
  • Professional. Good game flow and organization. Centralized so the staff could watch all games and officials. Good Q&A sessions with great staff and real answers
  • The level of play and games to officiate was excellent. It provided an opportunity to officiate potential college players
  • Honest feedback, high level games and accessibility to staff is great.
  • Top Level staff----they care and are willing to help. No ego and story telling but honest feedback.
  • Game management is top level---very well organized.
  • John is accessible and sees a lot of games and offer feedback.
  • The Ref-Quest rating technology gives immediate feedback.
  • I was a better official when I left, didn’t get hired but learned a TON!
