Identifying Offensive Basket Interference from the Center

This video emphasizes the importance of mental engagement when play is outside an official's immediate primary area. Starting at 8:25, the crew maintains a dependable setup as the ball moves to the elbow. As the drive develops into a trap and a contested shot, the Center official remains high-alert despite the lack of initial competitive matchups. This focus pays off when a rebounder touches the ball while it is still within the cylinder. We break down the mechanics of the Center’s assertive "Offensive Basket Interference" call and discuss how the Trail official also maintains a clean look to support the decision. The key takeaway is "working the system"—staying active and ready to process high-speed violations at the rim.
