This communication is vital for maintaining the game's flow and minimizes stoppages. Additionally, the video emphasizes the importance of calling illegal screens, as seen when #14 Blue sets one that is correctly identified by the Center official. Early enforcement of such calls is crucial for maintaining fairness and flow in the game, setting a precedent for the rest of the match.

Play BreakDown

Play #45 Northern Colorado vs UC Irvine Shot Clock and Illegal Screen On this play we have a missed shot, the ball rebounding all the way back into the backcourt where it is recovered by the offense. Because the ball is recovered in the backcourt this results in a full 30sec rest of the shot clock. The Center official does a great job communicating non verbally to the table crew that the reset was correct. This type of communication goes a long way and can help the flow of the game so we don't have to stop play and adjust the clock. Following the reset, Blue advances the ball into the frontcourt to reinitiate their offense. #14 Blue sets an illegal screen which is correctly called by the Center official who is in a great position to see the illegal movement by the screener. Calling illegal screens can help the game overall especially when they are called early in the game like is done here.
